July

Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts

State College is only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Treasure Lake and, along with Penn State University, host one of the top 10 arts festivals in the Country. Held annually for 5 days in July, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has good food, beautiful original art and artist demonstrations. Enjoy the music and relax under the historic Elms on Penn State's campus. When you have seen everything at this Festival, travel just a few miles down the road to historic Boalsburg for the People's Choice Festival to see the booths and entertainment of local artists, craftsmen and musicans. Both festivals are held at the same time for your enjoyment.

Scenic Elk Drive and New Visitor Center

Only a half hour drive from the entrance to Treasure Lake, you can see the largest herd of elk east of the Rockies. Visit the new Visitor Center where you can learn about the rich history of this mountain area. Listen to the elk bugle in the fall, enjoy the scenic vistas, wild turkey, bald eagles and soaring hawks. If you love seeing wildlife in their natural habitat, check out this scenic area close to home.
